German WWII Kriegsmarine-style metal breast eagle (Brustadler), featuring the German national eagle with outstretched wings, clutching a wreath enclosing a swastika.
The insignia displays a detailed feather pattern across the wings and body, with a raised eagle’s head and a prominently embossed wreath.
Manufactured in brass-colored metal, the eagle retains a darkened golden finish with age-related patina, surface oxidation and areas of discoloration.
The reverse features a long horizontal pinback attachment with a hinged pin and retaining catch, both appearing present in the photographs.
Metal breast eagles of this general style are associated with German naval uniform insignia, including certain Kriegsmarine dress and service garments.
The piece displays visible signs of age and handling, particularly across the wing surfaces and central wreath.
An attractive example of German WWII naval-style metal insignia, suitable for collectors of Kriegsmarine uniforms, naval decorations and military insignia.
