Description

Original vintage purchase permit issued by The Quebec Liquor Commission authorizing the holder to buy up to forty ounces of spirituous liquors per week. Bilingual booklet in French and English, with detailed printed instructions outlining the purchase limits and the method of stamping units as bottles were acquired.

This permit was issued to Mrs. Jean Crombie, residing at 4412 Ste-Catherine Street, Westmount, Quebec. The internal pages show period ink stamps recording transactions for February (weeks starting Feb. 1 to Feb. 22), giving it excellent provenance as an authentic piece of pre-war Canadian liquor regulation history.

Overall condition is good, showing some toning, minor edge wear, and light creasing consistent with age and handling. Complete and intact, with all internal pages present.

A rare collectible from the era of tight governmental control over alcohol distribution in Quebec, ideal for collectors of Canadian ephemera, Prohibition-era memorabilia, or social history.
