This is an original Winterhilfswerk (Winter Relief) donation badge from the early Third Reich period, issued for the Gau Westfalen-Nord during the 1933–1934 winter campaign. These badges were distributed as tokens of appreciation to those who contributed to the national charitable relief effort, known as Winterhilfswerk des Deutschen Volkes (WHW).
Obverse: Features a profile of Adolf Hitler with the inscriptions “HITLER’S DANK”, “WINTERHILFE”, and campaign years “1933–1934”, along with “GAU WESTFALEN-NORD”.
Reverse: Clearly marked “PAULMANN & CRONE LÜDENSCHEID” with the designation “GES. GESCH.” indicating a legally registered design in the Third Reich.
This badge is made of zinc or bronze-finished metal. The original pin on the reverse is missing, but the maker’s mark and all inscriptions remain visible.
