Original WWII Kriegsmarine HBT (Drillich) work uniform set consisting of a matching jacket and trousers, worn by a machinist (Maschinist) holding the rank of Gefreiter.
The jacket is constructed from blue-grey herringbone twill fabric and retains its original machine-embroidered breast eagle, along with a yellow-on-dark trade badge depicting a cogwheel, indicating engine room personnel. A single downward-pointing chevron is present on the sleeve, denoting the rank of Gefreiter.
The trousers are made from the same HBT material and exhibit identical wear and patina, strongly suggesting they have remained together as a set. They feature a button fly closure, belt loops, rear pocket, and period-correct construction details consistent with Kriegsmarine work garments.
Both pieces show honest field wear, including stains, minor repairs, and signs of prolonged use, adding to the authenticity and character of the set.
A scarce and highly desirable complete Kriegsmarine work uniform set, particularly with matching trousers and specialist insignia.
Condition:
Very good, with period wear, staining, and minor repairs consistent with service use.
