Original pair of RAD (Reichsarbeitsdienst) Führergruppe collar tabs, worn by ranks ranging from Unterfeldmeister to Oberfeldmeister under the 1942–1944 regulation system. This pattern features the characteristic long silver vertical tresse on a black wool backing — a design used across several mid-level RAD leader grades, with the specific rank determined by the corresponding shoulder straps rather than the tabs themselves.
These tabs show textbook construction: black wool top cloth, wide silver leader’s tresse, and coarse tan buckram backing. One tab displays noticeable discoloration, toning, and dulling of the bullion from age and wear, while the other retains a significantly brighter silver sheen. This mismatch is common and fully consistent with original, period-worn pairs that were exposed to different levels of use or sunlight.
Both pieces remain structurally intact and present well, making them an appealing and authentic set for display or for completing a correct RAD Führergruppe uniform restoration.
