Original German Prussian State Forestry Official’s Belt Buckle (Preußisches Staatsforst-Feldbindenschloss), representing the state-pattern Forestry insignia used prior to the standardization of the German National Forestry Service in 1938.
The circular buckle features the distinctive Prussian eagle, crowned and depicted holding the traditional sword and sceptre, with a swastika positioned on the eagle’s breast. The central emblem is surrounded by a decorative wreath.
Prior to 1938, German state forestry organizations utilized a variety of regional buckle patterns. These distinctive Prussian-pattern buckles remained in use until the introduction of standardized National Forestry Service uniform regulations in 1938.
This example retains much of its original gilt/bronze-colored finish with attractive age toning throughout. The rectangular belt fitting shows considerably more finish wear, exposing the lighter underlying metal in several areas.
The reverse retains its complete attachment mechanism. No manufacturer marking is visible and the buckle is therefore offered as unmarked.
