An original matching pair of German WWII Kriegsmarine officer’s belt lion head buckles (Löwenkopfschieber), intended for the navy officer’s brocade dress belt. Manufactured in gilded brass, each fitting features the distinctive finely detailed lion’s head in relief surrounded by an ornate mane, with the original sliding belt attachment on the reverse.
These fittings were used on Kriegsmarine officers’ dress belts and served as the decorative end pieces through which the belt straps passed before attaching to the officer’s buckle. They are an unmistakable component of the elegant Kriegsmarine officer’s parade and service equipment.
Both examples remain matching in design and finish, exhibiting an attractive untouched patina with honest service wear. The reverse slide attachments are intact and fully functional.
