Description

Original German WWII Heer Officer’s Belt Buckle (Offizier-Feldbindenschloss), manufactured for wear by officers of the German Army during the Third Reich period.

Introduced in 1937, this distinctive circular-pattern buckle was utilized by Heer officers with dress and formal uniforms. The silver-colored version was prescribed for officers from Leutnant through Oberst, while General officers utilized a gold-finished variation.

Constructed from aluminum, the buckle features a highly detailed Heer eagle and swastika on a textured central field, surrounded by a prominent raised oak-leaf wreath.

The reverse retains its complete original attachment system, including the hinged rectangular belt fitting and dual attachment prongs. The buckle is unmarked, a commonly encountered characteristic of original examples of this pattern.

The buckle remains in very good used condition. The obverse retains strong detail throughout the eagle and oak-leaf wreath, with attractive age toning and darker patina within the recessed areas. The reverse exhibits noticeable scratches and handling wear consistent with period use and age. All attachment components remain present.
