Original German WWII Waffen-SS BeVo Cap Eagle, manufactured for wear on Waffen-SS field headgear including the M43 and overseas cap.
The insignia features the characteristic Waffen-SS eagle and swastika machine woven in silver-gray thread on a black background. The reverse clearly displays the distinctive weave associated with this type of machine-woven insignia.
This example is cap removed, having been closely trimmed around the original eagle. The irregular edges, remaining threads and evidence of previous stitching are consistent with an insignia removed from headgear rather than an unissued example.
Despite the close trimming and age-related wear, the woven eagle remains well defined and retains strong contrast against the black background.
Original Waffen-SS BeVo cap eagles have become increasingly desirable, with unissued examples producing substantially higher prices on the current collector market.
