An original vintage copy of SS Regalia by Jack Pia, published by Ballantine Books as Full Color Special No. 2 in the Ballantine’s Illustrated History of the Violent Century series.
Published in 1974, this heavily illustrated reference presents the uniforms, insignia and regalia associated with the SS and Waffen-SS.
The book contains over 100 full-color photographs, illustrating a wide variety of period material including collar tabs, cuff titles, sleeve insignia, uniforms, camouflage clothing, rank insignia, RZM labels, decorations and other organizational regalia.
Although later and considerably more detailed reference works have since been published on the subject, this remains an interesting period collector reference from the 1970s, particularly notable for its extensive use of color photography at a time when many militaria reference books were still predominantly illustrated in black and white.
The copy offered here shows normal age and handling wear, particularly along the cover edges and spine, as visible in the photographs. The interior remains complete and presents well.
