Original Third Reich propaganda postcard featuring the 1939 Iron Cross 2nd Class suspended beneath the Oak Leaves, accompanied by Adolf Hitler’s famous declaration:
“Es kann nur einer siegen und das sind wir.”
(“Only one can be victorious, and that is us.”)
The design was created by noted German artist Gottfried Klein of Munich, combining one of Germany’s most iconic military decorations with a patriotic wartime slogan.
The reverse bears the original Heldengedenktag 1942 commemorative postage stamp together with the official Heldengedenktag special cancellation, dated 15 March 1942, making this both a propaganda postcard and an attractive piece of Third Reich postal history.
