Original Fleischer stethoscope by Becton Dickinson & Co., retained in its period protective pouch. This set comes from the family of a Canadian WWII serviceman who worked as a medical orderly / nurse during the war.
The inside of the pouch bears a handwritten inscription reading “LÉO HOPITAL / ALDERSHOT NOVA SCOTIA / 1943-44,” giving the piece strong wartime Canadian provenance. While no official Canadian military issue markings are visible on the instrument itself, the inscription and family history firmly associate the set with Canadian wartime medical service.
The stethoscope remains complete and displays well, with honest age and service wear. The pouch also remains in solid condition, showing expected period use and storage wear.
A very appealing WWII-era medical item combining authentic period manufacture, Canadian provenance, and a clearly personal wartime identification.
