Description

Original wartime ration token issued by the Canadian government during the Second World War. This bilingual “MEAT / VIANDE” token was part of the civilian rationing system introduced in the 1940s to manage food supply across Canada. Made of vulcanized fibre, it features the inscription “CANADA RATION” with a central hole and a maple leaf on each side of the wording.

These tokens were used at grocery stores to control the purchase of scarce items such as meat. A unique piece of Canadian homefront history and a great addition to any WWII or economic memorabilia collection.
