Original Medalla de la Campaña awarded to participants of the Spanish Civil War (1936–1939). This example was produced by Industrias Egaña of Motrico (Guipúzcoa), one of the most recognized medal manufacturers of the period.
The obverse depicts the lion of Castile subduing the HYDRA, with the inscription “17-Julio-1936”, marking the beginning of the Nationalist uprising. The reverse features the eagle and shield motif with the inscription “Arriba España – Una Grande Libre Imperial.” The medal retains its original gilt and oxidized finish, producing an attractive two-tone contrast.
What makes this set particularly desirable is the presence of the original presentation box marked “Industrias Egaña, Motrico”, and the period waxed paper wrapper, rarely encountered intact. The ribbon is bright and crisp with the correct red-yellow-black pattern and full-length mounting bar.
