Canadian Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) Long Service Medal Ribbon Bar, featuring the distinctive dark blue and gold striped ribbon associated with this prestigious Canadian police decoration.
Instituted in 1934, the RCMP Long Service Medal recognizes members of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police who have completed at least 20 years of qualifying service with good conduct.
This ribbon bar features alternating dark blue and gold vertical stripes, neatly mounted on a metal backing with a horizontal pin and rotating safety catch for attachment to a uniform.
Ribbon bars were worn in place of full-size medals on appropriate uniforms, allowing recipients to display their decorations in a compact and practical format.
The reverse features a metal mounting plate with visible markings, although the complete inscription is partially obscured by the ribbon and attachment hardware.
The ribbon retains attractive coloration, with minor handling wear and a few loose threads visible on the reverse.
An appealing Canadian police collectible suitable for collectors of RCMP memorabilia, Canadian decorations and Commonwealth service awards.
