Original period wax tin with embossed German text on lid and base. The dark red metal container still retains a substantial portion of its original contents — a translucent waxy cream, possibly for waterproofing or leather treatment. The inscription on the lid includes a prominent “SS” in stylized Germanic script, possibly indicating use or supply to SS units.
While markings of this nature did appear on some SS-issued personal effects, especially from logistics or medical services, there is no definitive proof this item was exclusively manufactured for or used by the SS.
