Interesting wartime-attributed metal token, commonly described in the collector market as a Luftwaffe “landing/airfield token” (posadochnyj zheton). The piece features a striking red painted finish on both sides and a central stylized “seagull” motif reminiscent of Luftwaffe-style design elements.
The suspension hole is clean and uniformly punched. There are visible contact marks around the hole, suggesting something was once attached or hung from it. Paint loss is present in several areas, but the remaining finish appears consistent and undisturbed, with matching wear on both sides.
Comparable items are sometimes offered online as Luftwaffe “landing tokens,” and Luftwaffe-related airfield/Fliegerhorst tokens are known to exist in collections.
Condition:
Honest period wear, paint chipping, and age toning. No evidence of fresh repainting observed.
