Description

Original World War II Wound Badge in Silver (1939), awarded for three or four wounds received in combat. This is a late-war zinc version, originally finished with a silver wash now fully absorbed into the metal over time — a common characteristic of zinc-based awards from the 1942–45 period.
The obverse retains sharp detail across the M35 helmet, swastika, crossed swords, and wreath. The reverse features the correct tubular hinge, “C”-style catch, and tapered pin assembly typical of unmarked wartime production.
A solid and entirely authentic late-war silver-grade wound badge showing honest period wear.

Material: Zinc (silver grade)
Finish: Original silver wash (now absorbed)
Hardware: Tubular hinge, C-catch, tapered pin
Markings: Unmarked (period-typical)
Condition: Strong details; natural zinc patina; complete hardware
Era: 1939–1945
