A very attractive example of the Schnellboot War Badge, awarded to crew members of the Kriegsmarine’s fast attack boats (S-Boote). This piece follows the well-known Baqueville style, produced in occupied France during the war. It features the characteristic crown shape, the distinctively rendered bow wave, and the sharp, angular eagle typical of this manufacturer.
The badge retains a pleasing amount of its original gilding around the wreath, with honest service wear and a naturally aged finish. The reverse shows textbook Baqueville construction: a narrow sheet-metal hinge block, a gently curved pin, and the classic soldered catch positioned low and tight against the body.
A solid and desirable example for collectors who appreciate the unique variants produced outside the traditional German maker circle.
