Original Deutsche Post (DDR – East Germany) stamp booklet dating to the early 1950s.
The booklet cover is marked:
“DEUTSCHE POST”
Gesamtwert 2.- DM
Inside are complete panes of:
5 Pf (industrial worker at machinery)
10 Pf (industrial workers scene)
20 Pf “Berlin Stalinallee”
The inclusion of the “Stalinallee” issue firmly places this booklet in the early Cold War period, prior to the 1961 renaming of the avenue to Karl-Marx-Allee.
The booklet also retains its original printed advertising inserts, including:
Deutsche Lufthansa promotional page
Sport-Toto lottery advertisement
Public messaging regarding kitchen waste recycling
Numbers lottery advertisement
All stamps appear mint and intact within the booklet. Binding staple present and original.
A very nice complete example of early DDR postal and graphic design history from the formative years of East Germany.
Condition:
Very good overall condition. Light age toning to cover consistent with storage. Stamps remain attached and unremoved.
