Original WWII-era Belgian postcard depicting the “Hôpital Hitler” at Brûly-de-Pesche, Belgium, dated 1940.

Brûly-de-Pesche became historically significant during the German invasion of France and the Low Countries in 1940, when Adolf Hitler established his forward Führer Headquarters Wolfsschlucht I (Wolf’s Gorge I) in and around the village.
Hitler arrived at Wolfsschlucht I on June 6, 1940, and remained there until June 27. From this headquarters he directed operations during the final stages of the Battle of France.
The postcard specifically identifies the building pictured as the “Hôpital Hitler.” An identical example is documented as part of the Brûly-de-Pesche 1940 postcard series and attributed to Nels / Edition Maurice Métens-Laffineur, Brûly-de-Pesche.
The reverse carries the publisher identification “Edition: Maurice Métens-Laffineur, Bruly-de-Pesches” together with the Nels publisher logo.
The postcard is unused and unposted, with no handwritten correspondence, postage stamp or postal cancellation.
