Description

Original German Third Reich-era photographic postcard depicting a park and pond with a prominent commemorative stone bearing a swastika and the inscription:

“HITLER-PARK
21.III.1933”

The photograph provides an interesting period view of the landscaped park, with the inscribed stone prominently positioned in the foreground.

The date March 21, 1933 corresponds with the early months of the National Socialist regime and the historic “Day of Potsdam,” although the precise reason for the date appearing on this particular monument has not been positively established.

The exact location of the park has also not yet been conclusively identified. Numerous German towns and cities renamed public parks and other civic spaces after Adolf Hitler during 1933, and this example is therefore being offered without an unsupported geographical attribution.

The reverse is unused and unmailed, with no publisher or photographer identification visible.

An unusual original period postcard with a particularly prominent Third Reich political inscription and swastika.
