Original postwar German color postcard entitled “Der Obersalzberg vor und nach 1945” (The Obersalzberg Before and After 1945).
The multi-view postcard presents six scenes associated with the historic Obersalzberg area near Berchtesgaden, combining views of the area before 1945 with postwar views documenting buildings and locations connected with the former Third Reich complex.
The reverse identifies the individual views, including the Hitlerhaus, Göringhaus and Kehlsteinhaus, and identifies the publisher as Josef Lochner, Bischofswiesen-Berchtesgaden, reference C 830.
This example was privately written and mailed in 1969. It retains its original Deutsche Bundespost postage stamp and postal cancellation.
A nice vintage postwar souvenir postcard documenting how the historically significant Obersalzberg area was presented to visitors during the postwar period.
