Original German Third Reich National Forestry Official’s Belt Buckle (Feldbindenschloss), manufactured for wear by officials of the German Forestry Service.
This distinctive horizontally oval buckle is manufactured from aluminum and features a detailed German eagle and swastika positioned over a finely pebbled background and surrounded by a prominent oak-leaf wreath.
The reverse retains its complete original belt attachment hardware and exhibits the characteristic construction associated with this pattern of Forestry Official’s buckle.
This example is being offered as an unmarked buckle. A small hand-scratched marking resembling an Assmann maker logo is visible on the reverse. This does not appear to be a factory-applied manufacturer’s mark and the buckle is therefore not being attributed to Assmann. The marking is mentioned for complete transparency and is clearly visible in the photographs.
Unmarked examples of this pattern are documented and are encountered among original National Forestry Official’s buckles.
The buckle remains in very good overall condition, retaining a bright aluminum appearance and excellent definition throughout the eagle, oak leaves and textured background. Light scratches and handling wear are present, consistent with age and use.
