Original Imperial German WWI-era single shoulder board (Schulterklappe) for Prussian Field Artillery Regiment Nr. 283 (Feldartillerie-Regiment Nr. 283), 1915 pattern.
This example features the classic red wool backing associated with Prussian field artillery units, with finely embroidered yellow “283” numerals and the artillery grenade device above the regimental number. Period documentation references confirm this regiment among the Prussian line field artillery formations using red backing with yellow regimental numerals.
The reverse retains its original dark field-grey wool backing without evidence of previous display mounting or glue residue. Construction and materials are fully consistent with wartime Imperial German manufacture.
Field Artillery Regiment Nr. 283 was part of the massive wartime expansion of the Imperial German Army during the First World War, when numerous reserve and newly raised artillery formations were created to support front-line operations.
A very attractive and visually striking Imperial German artillery shoulder board, ideal for collectors specializing in Kaiserreich artillery, Prussian militaria, or WWI Imperial uniforms.
Condition: Shows period age and light wear consistent with service and storage. Strong colors and excellent overall display appearance.
