Description

Original German WWII Luftwaffe Visor Cap Eagle (Schirmmützenadler) intended for wear on the visor cap of Luftwaffe personnel.

The eagle features the classic outstretched wings with downward-facing head clutching a mobile swastika in its talons. Manufactured in zinc with a silvered finish, this style of insignia was mounted to the front of the visor cap using two integral attachment prongs, which are no longer present on this example.

Although missing its original prongs, the eagle remains an authentic wartime insignia and displays attractive period patina. It would make an excellent filler piece, display example, or restoration component for an original visor cap.

Condition

Good overall condition. Original silvered finish with attractive age patina. Both attachment prongs are missing, with the original mounting holes still visible. No visible maker mark. Displays well despite the missing attachment hardware.
