Original WWII German S84/98 III bayonet, manufactured in 1943 by F. W. Holler, Solingen, as indicated by the blade marking “43 fze”. This later-war production example features blued steel fittings, ribbed bakelite grips, and is accompanied by an unmatched scabbard marked “fze 43”, which still matches by manufacturer and year — a nice detail.
The serial numbers do not match between blade and scabbard, which was common as parts were reissued or replaced in field arsenals. The blade retains much of its original bluing and shows clean markings, while the scabbard displays light age and use but remains straight and functional.
