Original WWII German Aircraft Reporting Service (Flugmeldedienst) member badge. This striking enamel badge features a black silhouette of a twin-engine aircraft flying through radial beams against a blue sky, with a red lower field containing a swastika.
The Flugmeldedienst, created in 1932 and integrated into the Luftwaffe in 1939, was tasked with detecting and reporting enemy aircraft movements across the Reich. It was predominantly staffed by civilian volunteers, especially women, and played a crucial role in Germany’s air defense network during WWII.
This example is in excellent condition with vivid enamel and clean surface detail. The reverse is marked Ges. Gesch., indicating it is a legally protected design. The triangular maker’s logo with “01” is also present, a known variation.
