Description

Original Ehrenkreuz für Frontkämpfer (Hindenburg Cross with Swords), instituted in 1934 to recognize German frontline veterans of the First World War. This version is the combatant type, identifiable by the crossed swords behind the central medallion. The obverse displays the dates 1914–1918 within a laurel wreath, symbolizing frontline service.

The reverse is stamped “N.&H.”, the mark of Noelle & Hueck, a known wartime and interwar manufacturer based in Lüdenscheid. The bronze finish shows mild age patina and handling wear consistent with an authentic example.

The ribbon is original, displaying typical fraying and wear at the folds. Colors remain visible with minor toning from age.
