Original wartime aircraft recognition handbook titled “Kriegsflugzeuge”, covering German, Italian, British-American, and Soviet military aircraft. Published in Summer 1943 and compiled with the participation of the Reich Air Ministry (RLM), this pocket reference was intended to assist in the identification, recognition, and understanding of contemporary combat aircraft.
The booklet contains numerous period photographs and technical identification guides for a wide variety of wartime aircraft, including Luftwaffe types such as the Ju 87 Stuka and Ju 88, alongside Allied and Axis aircraft. Such manuals were used for educational, civil defense, and pre-military training purposes during the war.
This example remains complete, retaining all pages and illustrations. The front cover had become detached from the text block at some point and has been professionally stabilized with period-style cloth tape along the spine. The booklet shows overall age-related wear, handling marks, and toning consistent with wartime use and storage, but remains entirely readable and displayable.
An interesting and affordable original Luftwaffe-related reference piece from the Second World War.
