Original World War II Canadian ration book issued to Aldée Béchard, 3406 St-Hubert, Apt. 10, Quebec. Ration Book No.6, bilingual in French and English, containing numerous intact food coupons (series B and M).
These ration books were issued by the Wartime Prices and Trade Board to control civilian consumption of essential goods during the war effort. The inside pages advise rationing rules and contain guidance on updating addresses or returning the book in case of death, enlistment, or departure from Canada.
Condition is very good overall, showing light handling wear, minor creasing, and some toning appropriate for its age. All internal coupons appear present and uncut, making this an attractive and complete example for collectors.
A historically significant artifact of Canada’s home front during WWII, perfect for military history collections, social history displays, or museum exhibits.
