Original World War II Romanian “Crusade Against Communism” Medal (Cruciada împotriva comunismului), instituted in 1942 and awarded to Romanian and Axis personnel who participated in the Eastern Front campaign beginning in 1941.
The obverse features a classical female profile symbolizing Romania, encircled by the inscription “ROMANIA RECUNOSCĂTOARE” (“Grateful Romania”).
The reverse displays a powerful symbolic composition of a hand gripping a sword over a radiant Christian cross, dated “1941”, with the surrounding inscription “CRUCIADA ÎMPOTRIVA COMUNISMULUI” (“Crusade Against Communism”).
The medal is struck in bronze and retains its original suspension ring. The piece shows a natural, even patina consistent with age.
Ribbon is not present.
