This is an original Sudetenland Medal (Medaille zur Erinnerung an den 1. Oktober 1938), awarded to German military personnel, civilians, and ethnic German supporters involved in the annexation of the Sudetenland region from Czechoslovakia. The obverse depicts two figures symbolizing unity, with the Nazi eagle and swastika below. The reverse is inscribed with the date “1. Oktober 1938”, surrounded by the phrase “Ein Volk, Ein Reich, Ein Führer” (One People, One Empire, One Leader).
The medal is attached to its original ribbon, featuring black, white, and red stripes, and includes a functional pin-back for wear. A piece of Third Reich history, this medal is a significant artifact representing Nazi territorial expansion prior to World War II.
