Original WWII German postcard featuring Adolf Hitler surrounded by children, mailed from Prague (Praha) on November 8, 1940, during the German occupation of Bohemia and Moravia.
The reverse is particularly attractive from a postal-history perspective, carrying a mixed arrangement of period postage including four Böhmen und Mähren / Čechy a Morava stamps in 10, 12, 20 and 50 heller denominations together with an 8 Pfennig Deutsches Reich commemorative stamp.
The stamps are tied to the card by multiple clear PRAHA 7 – 8.XI.40 postal cancellations. An additional cancellation appears over the German Reich stamp and includes Böhmen-Mähren, further emphasizing the card’s connection with the German-occupied Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia.
A blue “MIT LUFTPOST / PAR AVION” airmail label is affixed at upper left.
The postcard was addressed to Firma Karl Hennig in Hamburg, providing a complete postal-history element rather than simply being an unused propaganda postcard.
The combination of a Hitler photographic subject, occupied Prague origin, Protectorate postage, German Reich franking, multiple dated cancellations and airmail label makes this considerably more interesting than a standard unused portrait postcard.
Condition: Good original circulated condition with expected age and handling wear. Some creasing and surface wear are visible on the photographic side, together with minor staining and edge wear. The reverse remains attractive with strong stamps and clearly visible cancellations.
