Original Kriegsmarine officer’s brocade belt buckle (Feldbindenschloss) manufactured by Friedrich Linden, Lüdenscheid (FLL) and dated 1940.
This elegant buckle was intended for wear on the gilt-and-silver brocade dress belt worn by German naval officers. The design features a finely detailed silvered fouled anchor superimposed over a gilt ribbed background and enclosed within a laurel wreath, representing the standard officer pattern of the Kriegsmarine.
The reverse retains its original attachment fittings and is clearly marked with the FLL manufacturer’s logo together with the date “1940”. Measuring approximately 61 x 42 mm including the belt loops, the buckle displays the high-quality construction associated with wartime FLL production.
The piece remains in very attractive condition, retaining much of its original gilt finish with only light age-related wear. The silvered anchor remains sharply defined and contrasts nicely against the gilt background, resulting in excellent display appeal.
