Original West German Bundeswehr Rifle Cleaning Kit (Reinigungsgerät) housed in its olive-green painted steel storage case. The interior lid is clearly factory marked “Pg f Gew.”, “P&E”, and dated “5/59” (May 1959), placing its production during the early years of the Bundeswehr and the Cold War period.
The kit retains its original steel cleaning chain, oil bottle, and both cleaning brushes. The painted steel case remains in very good service-used condition, exhibiting honest wear, scratches, and edge wear consistent with military service and long-term storage. The factory markings inside the lid remain visible and legible.
Produced for the newly established West German armed forces, these Bundeswehr cleaning kits were intended for the maintenance of service rifles and represent an interesting piece of early Cold War military equipment. Examples retaining their original components and clearly dated markings are increasingly sought after by collectors of Bundeswehr, NATO, and Cold War militaria.
Please note that the Chamber Mop Holder (Hülsenstopfwischer) and Cleaning Wick (Reinigungsdocht) are not present. The remaining components appear original to the set.
A desirable and well-preserved West German Bundeswehr accessory with clearly visible factory markings and period date stamp.
