Original WWII German Gemeindepolizei (Municipal Police) shoulder strap for the rank of Hauptwachtmeister. Constructed with silver Russian braid-style edging over dark brown/black cords on a red wool base, and fitted with two silver-toned police rank pips.
The red underlay is characteristic of municipal police formations during the Third Reich era. The combination of dual pips and enlisted/NCO style construction identifies the rank as Hauptwachtmeister within the Ordnungspolizei structure.
The reverse retains its original red backing cloth and shows clear signs of age, storage, and uniform wear, including areas of adhesive residue and light deterioration to the backing. The front remains attractive and displays very well overall.
A solid original example for collectors of German police insignia and Ordnungspolizei uniforms.
