Original WWII German Panzer officer shoulder board for the rank of Oberstleutnant (Lieutenant Colonel). Constructed with gold and dark green officer braid mounted on vivid pink Waffenfarbe backing cloth identifying the Panzer branch.
The shoulder board retains both original gilt rank pips, corresponding to the rank of Oberstleutnant within the Wehrmacht officer corps. The bright pink backing remains clearly visible and is strongly associated with German armored formations of the Second World War.
The piece remains in very good overall condition with attractive age toning to the gilt braid and rank devices. The reverse retains its original fastening tongue and backing cloth, showing honest period wear and construction.
