Original Second World War Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) Warrant Officer 1st Class forage cap badge, manufactured by the respected Canadian insignia maker J.R. Gaunt, Montreal.
Constructed in gilt-finished brass, the badge features the distinctive King’s Crown with original red velvet backing above a spread eagle and crossed laurel branches, representing the senior non-commissioned rank of Warrant Officer Class 1 (WO1) within the wartime RCAF.
The reverse retains its original horizontal pin assembly and is clearly marked J.R. Gaunt Montreal, a desirable Canadian wartime manufacturer whose products were widely used throughout the RCAF during the Second World War.
The badge displays attractive age patina with excellent detail remaining throughout the eagle, crown, and laurel wreath. The original velvet crown backing remains present and displays very well.
