This attractive traditional hat ornament retains its original natural hair plume, mounted in a silver-colored metal sleeve with green felt backing and a functional pin attachment. The ornament displays excellent craftsmanship and remains in very nice overall condition.
Although commonly referred to as a Gamsbart, ornaments featuring wild boar hair are also known in Germany as Saubart. They are traditionally worn on Bavarian and Alpine hunting hats (Trachtenhut) and remain a distinctive symbol of German hunting heritage and regional traditions.
