Original Third Reich propaganda postcard depicting Adolf Hitler in political service uniform with visor cap, Iron Cross 1st Class, and NSDAP armband. The portrait is captioned “Unser Führer” (“Our Leader”) beneath the image and represents one of the classic official propaganda portraits issued during the late 1930s.
The reverse identifies the publisher as Otto Hoppe Verlag, Berlin C2, with the postcard numbered 56. This example bears an original 9 April 1938 Vienna (Wien) commemorative cancellation, celebrating the “Tag des Großdeutschen Reiches” following the Anschluss of Austria. It is additionally franked with both a 6 Reichspfennig Deutsches Reich commemorative stamp and an Austrian 4 Groschen stamp, creating an attractive historical combination associated with one of the most significant political events of the period.
The postcard remains in very good condition with light age-related wear. The portrait displays excellent contrast, while the reverse features sharp commemorative cancellations and clean unused address lines.
